Ömer Halisdemir, who came from a family with seven children in the Çukurkuyu town of Bor district of Niğde in 1974, spent his childhood in the Çukurkuyu town of Niğde. Kahraman Martyr Ömer Halisdemir, who worked as a shepherd in Çukurkuyu after school, has two children, Elifnur and Doğan Ertuğrul, from his marriage to Hatice Halisdemir.

Hero Martyr Ömer Halisdemir, one of the important names in preventing the July 15 coup attempt, joined the Turkish Armed Forces as an infantry petty officer in 1999 and served within the Turkish Armed Forces at home and abroad. Martyr Petty Officer Senior Sergeant Ömer Halisdemir, who sacrificed his life without hesitation to prevent the treacherous attempt against the survival of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Nation on July 15, 2016, defeated the coup plotter General Semih Terzi, who tried to enter the Special Forces Command, and General Staff Special Forces Commander Lieutenant General Zekai. He killed him by shooting him in the forehead upon the "Shoot" order he received from Aksakallı.

Ömer Halisdemir, who was martyred by the junta soldiers next to Brigadier General Semih Terzi, changed the course of the July 15 coup attempt by showing a great example of heroism and became the representative of democracy.
